Here is a list of essential items to start off right!

20 to 25 cloth diapers
To go on cloth diapers full time, you will need between 20 and 25 cloth diapers, depending on the amount of laundry loads you will do. Since your baby needs to be changed about 7 to 9 times a day during the first month after birth, a minimum of 20 diapers is strongly recommended.

Liners (approximately 1 roll per month)
These liners are a must! They help separate the faeces from the diaper before putting it in the laundry. Liners are disposable, which permits easy faeces elimination. You will need to add one liner per diaper.

Additional information: if you breastfeed only, you can limit the liners usage since the faeces are water soluble. However, as soon as you start feeding your baby meals or formulas, you have to separate the faeces before washing the diapers.

Wet bag (4 – 5 total)
Travel bags are very useful for out-of-the-house activities and day care. You will need 2 to 3 travel bags to start with (for your outings), then about 4 to 5 to bring your baby’s belongings daily at day care.

Bag for dirty diapers
This bag is useful to store away your dirty diapers in between laundry loads. You can wash the diapers every 2 to 3 days.

1- Do not use baby wash detergents (this detergent isn’t strong enough to clean the diapers effectively).

2- Do not use fabric softeners or detergents that contain a fabric softener (to keep the diaper absorbency intact).

Considering that a newborn baby will be changed about 7 to 8 times a day, an average of 20 to 25 cloth diapers is recommended. Then, growing up, 20 diapers will be enough because the child needs to be changed less often.

We have been doing business with the same supplier in China since the establishment of our company over 7 years ago. We visited the facilities in 2016 as well as in 2019 to keep an open and trusting relationship with them.

Making cloth diapers as accessible as possible is the first objective we set ourselves when building our business. Offering our products at this price, it isn’t possible to make them at home. Our very competitive prices are due to the fact that there is no intermediary between our supplier based in China and us. In addition, we put very little money on advertising and rely more on word of mouth.

1- Wash the diapers
Washing the diapers (diapers and inserts) allows you to get rid of the sewing threads. Thereafter, you can wash the inserts 2 more times (by drying between each wash) to make them more absorbent.

2- Detergent
Using the right detergent will make the difference. Your soap should not contain fabric softener. In addition, the quantity that must be used mainly corresponds to the maximum quantity of soap recommended. Also, do not use baby detergent that is not concentrated enough to properly wash the diapers.

3- Find a good storage solution
Close the velcros on their flaps after use. Place soiled diapers in a laundry basket or a wet-bag for soiled diapers. Wash the diapers every 2-3 days. Do not soak or rinse diapers during this process as they should remain as dry as possible. If you rinse your diapers, you should hang them to air dry and wash them within the following 24 hours. A good storage solution should leave no odor.

Unfortunately, we are an online business with no storefront. Our very competitive prices and our satisfied customers are proof of success. If you are unsure that you want a full set of cloth diapers, we suggest purchasing our Trial Kit. That’s an easy way to try our diapers and let yourself be convinced!

It is recommended to wash and dry the inserts up to 2-3 times before their first use, this allows the fabric to gain maximum absorption and to clean them from sewing threads that would have remained stuck during manufacturing. The more the inserts are washed, the more they will become absorbent. You can have a look at Maintenance Section for more information.

AFTER USE

Close the velcros on their flaps after use. Place soiled diapers in a laundry basket or a wet-bag for soiled diapers. If you rinse your diapers, you should hang them to air dry and wash them within the following 24 hours. Note that it is not necessary to remove the inserts before washing our diapers, they will come out automatically due to the double opening pocket.

WASHING

Use a soap that does not contain fabric softener. Also, do not use baby detergents that are not concentrated enough to properly wash the diapers. A good washing routine will help maintain the absorbency of the inserts.

Rinse with cold water before the wash cycle and then wash with warm or hot water according to your preferences.

DRYING

The inserts can go in the dryer. The same applies to the diapers and covers if you make sure not to manipulate them when they are hot nor to overdry them. This step tightens the threads and “reseals” the Polyurethane Laminate (PUL) that covers the outer fabric (the waterproof membrane). You may occasionally sun dry your inserts and diapers since it’s an excellent whitener and a great antibacterial agentplease note that sun drying your diapers and covers can dry the rubber bands and wear them out prematurely in which case the warranty is no longer applicable.

AAll the pocket diapers we sell contain an insert pocket. This means that you must place one or two inserts inside it, depending on your baby's needs. As you may have noticed, each of our pocket diapers has 2 openings to place the inserts. It may seem trivial, but this second opening is very practical; it allows you to put the entire diaper in the washing machine without having to remove the inserts. These two openings will allow the insert to come out during washing. One less manipulation!

Our two openings were created to make it easier to wash and to place the insert!

The AIO (All-in-One) diaper is a winning recipe because it includes an opening on the back to insert more inserts for better absorption and also comes with a booster. This booster has a dry effect on the top as well as a soft gray interior for baby’s skin. It is made of one layer of microfiber and four layers of bamboo (absorbs 6.5 oz).

It provides a precise fit thanks to the 4 rows of snaps located at the front of the diaper.

In addition, the inner lining of the AIO is made of one layer of microfiber and three layers of bamboo (absorbs up to 6 oz of liquid).
